Loop Year 2022
Time loop is a fictional concept is when you experience certain events over the time period and there's hope to break out of that cycle of repetition. If you saw the latest Tamil movie Maanadu or Tenet or Groundhog day you will get the drift. Ok even if you haven't seen it but read on.
The New year is always special as there is a certain sense of positivity and hope that heralds the new year. A lot of anticipation that you can start over as a clean slate if you want to and there's a general euphoria around it.
2020 was a super starter and it dawned bright with Covid 19 as a household name. By March, N95 masks sanitizer social distancing lockdown quarrantine were all household terms. Then after the months that passed it was time for New Year 2021. There were talks of a delta variant but well the same thing repeats itself like the time loop and in a few months the second wave of sorts hits everyone. While the year progressed you weigh in options and you realise it's almost December. The enthusiasm of 2022 is on everyone though the next variant Omicron is a household name.
This time loop concept of sorts is now close to home and this Sunday lockdown in Chennai, it was more than a sense of Dejavu as you muttered Really? Again? Instead of preaching to the choir let's recollect the favourite time loop actions and leave your comments behind. As mentioned all in the lighter vein and to make this phase as bearable. Here's my top 10 in no particular order.
1. Sunday walk in the internal roads of your neighborhood to get some fresh air while you look out for cop cars.
2. Timing swiggy orders basis lockdown and mastering the art of ordering chai at 3:55 PM
3. Wondering when it's your turn as the weather changes and you sneeze! OMG that reaction to sneezing and coughing is still the same
4. Working from home and back to the "same spot " with the headsets and never ending calls
5. Looking at what's app memes year after year as you see the jokes getting recycled! Time stamps anyone? Recently a news clipping got recirculated and no one even guessed.
6. Back to Ludo and snakes and ladders
7. Checking in on everyone as a forward I read said if you don't know someone who has tested positive than you clearly don't have friends
8. Pick up what's app chatter on conspiracy theories around this virus and watch as serious arguments on the topic unfold
9. Mention oh when this ends am definitely going to be in the Bahamas ( substitute to whatever destination you wouldn't have ever considered)
10. Ensure you do your bit and send every legit fwd to atleast 5 groups
There I did not even take a pause to write this. What's your time loop action?
