What's your bragging right?

Imagine this. Or maybe just read on. At work you are in a day long “strategy” workshop. This means you get more breaks than you deserve to clear your head . Breaks also mean ample supply of tea, coffee, snacks, lunch then repeat in the same order till dinner.  The most latest observation of mine include at least 50% in this group who are in some new fitness routine or diet. While I am a huge advocate for both and quite private when it comes to what I train and eat, its highly amusing at a large well educated group the lengths people will go to brag. Why I say brag is because it’s not just sticking to their plan , but digressing to a lengthy rigmarole of why a particular diet is the best thing on earth or spin cycling is the new cool thing. While it’s heartening to note the healthier way of living and its of course awesome to share information and discuss, there is a thin line that separates this from bragging. Even bragging I can tolerate till you just peel the layers and get tired by the baseless claim to fame.

X: I think I need that extra bit of protein today after my marathon this morning
Me: Ah!Was it half or full marathon?
X: Na…5 K in my building complex event.
Me: Thinks a lot in my head but says “ Oh wow”…
X: Thanks to my early morning would need an extra tea today. Though I am off sugar these days so can you pass me the honey?
Me: I really need to bite my tongue lest I say something, but smile and say” Sure its right there"

If you think the above conversation is perfectly normal than this post isn’t for you. For the rest, I hope you get the drift? I am trying to understand this space and try not to intervene till someone says something that’s largely incorrect. Then the prude in me takes over to defend or argue around this. This is all in a lighter note and of course interested in hearing your most innovative bragging experience…
